Chapter 4: Birthday Surprise!
~Woande’s P.O.V.~
“Come on, let’s go to the dining hall and sit over breakfast with Father. I do hope he approves of our gowns.” Flerbs says in her ‘grown up’ tone. She is always acting so much older than 17, but she can still be very childish. Thats a good thing sometimes.
“I don’t care if father doesn't approve of my dress. I have been waiting to wear this dress since I was 15! Yeah, Yeah, I know i'm overly prepared and tend to plan WAY ahead. Shut up.” I tell Flerbs in my ‘I don’t care’ tone.
We walk down the hallway to our spiral staircase that has a slide to get down to the dining hall! Yeah, this castle is yamazing. We slide down and enter the dining hall to, of course, our father eating a feast for ten. We sit down in the two seats in front of our father. He looks at us and examines our outfits.
“You two look gorgeous. Ah, my flabulous twerklatwins, all grown up.” I can hear how proud of us he is just by the tone of his voice.
“I think now is a good time to finally tell you about the conflict with Goronglia. Also, about your...mother.” He was so happy just a second ago. What happened? Wait. Mother? I thought she died during childbirth. What is going on?
“ I am sure you are aware that we are currently, and always have been in a war with Goronglia. Also that the princes of Goronglia have decided to attend the ball. I have allowed this because I believe we can end this war through a marriage; and in return of a marriage proposal they have promised the return of something stolen from me long, long ago. Something that I think we all need back into our lives. Your mother.” Father says this with sorrow in his voice, along with rage.
“MOTHER?! You told us that mother died while we were infants! You lied to us!” I am now yelling at the top of my lungs in anger. Flerbery and I can communicate with each other through our minds. I can hear all her rage in her thoughts.
~Mind Conversation~
‘Woande! I can’t believe that he has never told us this before! We deserved to know this sooner!’
‘I know! I want to know where she is and why! If I have to I will find her myself!’
~Mind Conversation End~
“After you two were born, Gorongl and his two sons and his wife decided to come and welcome you two. Back then all was in peace, we were all working together. Upon their arrival, they realized you girls bore magical powers. Woande, you accidentally froze Gorongl’s staff to his hand. Flerbery, you almost caught the two boys on fire. They took this as a declare of war and left. Soon after the declare, Gorongl’s wife became very ill and died. Your mother felt bad for him and his loss, she was also afraid of the powers you two bore. So she left for Goronglia. She married Gorongl, but she disobeyed him, so she is now locked away in the dungeon. A peasant boy who is in charge of bringing your mother food has been so kind as to travel between kingdoms to inform me of her well being. Sadly my only chance of getting your mother back, safely, is to have an arranged marriage of the both of you to the twins, - and -. I am sorry girls but you have no choice. Now please, leave and greet our guests and enjoy your birthday.” Father is saying this in such a sad and forceful tone.
“Bu-” Flerbs and I are about to speak when interrupted by our father and two guards.
“Girls! No! I have made my decision now do as I say! Guards bring the girls to the main entrance to greet our guests!” Father yells at us. And we are now being carried away by two stubborn guards. Great.
